It is the amalgamation of frozen Banana, Greek yogurt, Milk, Honey, vanilla extract where all of them are blended to a luscious smoothie. After the huge success of banana kiwi smoothie, today I have come up with simple and basic but utterly delicious banana smoothie recipe. This fibre rich banana smoothie recipe is mostly served for breakfast for its high fibre content.

In today’s busy world, many people skip their breakfast because of the extremely tight schedule of work, study etc. This is very harmful for our lives. Breakfast plays a vital role for a healthy and happy life. If we start our day with anxiety, hunger and emptiness then we will lack to give our hundred percent attention towards our job. It is not be a good sign and we all don’t want that. To escape from these problems, we need to think something smart and healthy.

A breakfast smoothie is a rapid and instant solution of the above-mentioned problems. Preparation of a breakfast smoothie hardly takes five minutes of our busy schedule which is easily manageable. Breakfast smoothie recipes are always my all-time favourite. A glass of thick and tasty drink makes me full till afternoon and at the same time I also feel so lite.

Banana smoothie recipe is a perfect breakfast or snack option. Banana is full of fibre and its sweet taste restricts us from adding any excess external sweeteners to the drink. Breakfast and Banana are like two old friends who frequently meet each other on the breakfast table.

Next time if you have excess bananas which are getting extra ripe with brown spots at your kitchen counter then don’t think to eat excess of them forcefully or make your kids eat like that. How to freeze bananas?

Next time when you have more ripe bananas and don’t understand how to finish them, don’t give a second thought. Just make them frozen and keep them for later use to prepare banana smoothie healthy.

  • To freeze the bananas just peel the bananas and cut them into half inch round slices.
  • Then put them into a zip lock bag and squeeze out excess air from the bag or even you can store them in an airtight container too.
  • Freeze them for at least 6-7 hours and this way you can store the bananas for around 5 weeks and enjoy any smoothie recipe.
  • This way the banana pieces may stick to each other. You can separate them easily using hands. If few pieces are stuck to each other, don’t worry. Anyways, they going to be blended into the blender.
  • To get rid of this problem, you can place the banana slices into a single layer on a baking paper and place them into the freezer for 2-3 hours and then transfer them into a zip lock bag or an airtight container.

Banana smoothie yogurt is one of my favourite breakfast smoothies because it is so very simple and easy to make. It requires all very simple ingredients which are easily available in any kitchen pantry. The best part of the recipe is that it is highly customizable, and you can prepare it according to your own preference.

  • Fresh or frozen, both types of bananas work for the banana smoothie for breakfast. But the frozen bananas make the smoothie thicker.
  • If you like super thick smoothie then reduce the amount milk as mentioned in the recipe.
  • If you want to add more protein into your smoothie then you can increase the amount of Greek yogurt or few extra tablespoons of cream into it.

To prepare the banana smoothie healthy aka banana smoothie yogurt, take a jar of a blender and then add the frozen banana slices into it.

Add Greek yogurt, milk, honey, vanilla extract into the jar of the blender and pulse it to a smooth velvety smoothie.

In this banana smoothie recipe, I have skipped sugar to make the smoothie healthier. I have used honey instead of sugar as the sweetener for the drink. But you can use any other sweetener of your choice.

For inducing a soothing flavour, I have added vanilla extract into the banana smoothie recipe. As we all know, whether it is cake, bread, pancake, cookies or smoothie the combination of banana and vanilla flavour goes amazing with each other.

The final touch of any smoothie recipe is topping. After pouring the banana smoothie yogurt into the glasses, add some banana slices and sprinkle little bit of cinnamon powder on the top of the glasses.
