There is no hard and fast rule to prepare a fruit salad recipe. You can add any choice of fruit to this salad. You can add as much variety of fruits as you like. There is a big room for improvisation for the recipe and people twist and turn it according to their preferences.
In fact, a few years ago when I used to go to the supermarket, I used to get tempted by the readymade fruit salad and grabbed them on numerous occasions. But honestly, it was not that great. Then one day, I thought to give a try to prepare a fresh fruit salad recipe. It was so easy to make and tasted even more refreshing and better than market-bought ones. Since that day, I have never been tempted anymore by the supermarket-cut fruits and fruit salad. Whenever I get the craving for the easy fruit salad recipe, I prepare it at home. It takes a little bit of time to cut the fruits but it’s completely worth to give a try.
Fruit salad recipe is very simple and easy to make. All the ingredients required to prepare the dish are easily available. You can add your choice of seasonal fruits as well in the recipe. The best part of the recipe is that you don’t need to cook it which makes it a perfect summer recipe too.
Ingredients to prepare fruit salad
Mango: Juicy mangoes add nice flavour, taste, and texture to the salad. Try to add a sweet variety of mango for fruit salad.
Apple: The addition of apples gives a crunchy bite to the salad.
Pear: The addition of pear adds sweetness and favour to the salad.
Grapes: You can use any variety of grapes like green, red, and black for the recipe. But always try to use a seedless variety for the recipe.
Strawberries & Blueberries: These berries add flavour, taste, colour, and texture to the fruit salad. You can use any berry for the salad like raspberries, blackberries etc.
Kiwi: It adds vibrant green colour to the salad and complements the salad with its different texture.
Banana: Adds nice flavour, sweet taste, and creamy texture to the salad.
Honey: Adds sweetness to the fruit salad.
Lemon juice: Adds refreshing flavour and balances the taste of the dressing.

Tips to prepare perfect fruit salad
- After washing the fruits pat dry them. We don’t want any extra moisture in the salad.
- Cut the fruits to bite-size to make them easy to eat.
- You can adjust the amount of honey according to your choice.
- Don’t add salt to the salad. It will release moisture from the fruits.
- Use fresh and good quality fruits for the fruit salad recipe.
- Always use a seedless variety of grapes for the recipe.
- Check the kiwi before, touching it. It should be slightly soft then it should be sweet and ripe.
- Make sure the strawberries don’t have any bruises.
- You can skip the banana because it gets brown after cutting. But for me, it’s a must. It adds a sweet taste, creamy texture and nice flavour to the salad.
How to make fresh fruit salad?
To prepare a perfect fruit salad recipe, first wash all the fruits nicely and pat dry them. Then peel the mangoes and chop them into small pieces. Then peel the kiwi, banana and slice them into small pieces. Cut the other fruits into small bite-size pieces.
On the other hand, for dressing, put honey in a small bowl and squeeze some fresh lemon juice into it. Mix it thoroughly with a fork and keep it aside for later use.
Then transfer the chopped fruits one by one into a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle the dressing on the top and mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a fork or spoon. Now your delicious fruit salad recipe is ready to serve.
