Pulpy Grape Juice is a pure Arabian delicacy which is hugely popular in the subcontinents of middle east. It is an authentic drink which is prepared by Black Grapes, Sugar and Water. The USP (Unique Selling Point) of the drink is its soft and juicy pulp within the juice which gives a unique texture to the drink. It is mostly served chilled with main course or simply as a drink.
Summer is knocking at our doors and we need something refreshing to shake hands with the Sun. Nothing can be better companion than a glass of fruit juice with some ice cubes during summer. Pulpy Grape Juice is a perfect option for that.
First time I had this drink was in a reputed Arabic restaurant while I was in Bengaluru. The restaurant was renowned for its Pulpy grape juice and Chicken Shawarma. I loved the drink so much that I couldn’t stop myself visiting that restaurant repeatedly.
Whenever I used to have this drink, it made me contemplate about its preparation because of its unique texture, supreme taste and colour.

After shifting to Pune, I used to miss the drink badly. So, one fine day I decided to prepare it at home. I went to supermarket and grabbed some seedless Black Grapes and finally prepared it for the first time. Now, it has become a ritual to prepare Pulpy Grape Juice in summer for my family, friends and relatives.
Today, when I saw some Black Grapes for the first time in a Supermarket of London, the first thing came to my mind is this beverage. On the second thought, I have decided to share this exciting recipe with you all.
You need only three ingredients i.e. seedless Black grapes, Sugar and water to prepare this pulpy juice. Though it takes a bit time for its preparation but believe me, it is completely worth spending each second on it. Its elegant colour can easily attract you towards the glass. It can be a great option for your summer party too.

Health benefits of Black Grapes
  • Black grapes are full of nutrients and vitamins specially Vitamin C & K.
  • Black grapes are good source of antioxidants which helps to protect our body from many heart problems and cancer.
  • It helps in reducing the risk of diabetes.
  • It contains many compounds which are beneficial for our eyesight.
  • It enhances our memory and concentration. It’s very healthy for our brain.
In this preparation, first I have boiled the Black Grapes for some time and then took their skin off. Collecting the pulp separately from the skin, is the most time-consuming part of this beverage. Though it’s a bit messy job but it’s not a very difficult task.

While boiling the Grapes, first the Grapes would start floating into the water. Then cracks would start occurring on the skin of the grapes. This is when, we need to cook them in low flame for some time so that the skin can easily leave the flesh of the grapes.
Once the Grapes are properly boiled, we need to separate them from boiling water to iced water so they can cool down quickly. Then with the help of fingers press the Grapes and separate the pulp from its skin.
Never discard the separated skin because it is one of the key ingredients to colour the drink. Yes, it is only because of these separated skins that Pulpy Grape Juice gets the divine colour.
After separating the pulp, add the removed skin into the boiled water and boil them for some more time for the magical violet colour.
I have not added any ice cubes in this drink to maintain its rich texture. Few people prefer to add ice cubes to have it chilled. To can go ahead with your own preference on this.
