Ginger mint lemon water is one of the most refreshing non-alcoholic summer drinks which is crazily popular worldwide. It is also known as ginger mint lemonade. It is considered a perfect vitamin C-rich summer cooler for all ages, starting from kids to grownups. Ginger and mint lemonade is basically a summer drink where sugar, mint leaves, and chopped ginger are boiled in water and then strained. Then the syrup is mixed with water, lime juice, lemon slices, and ice cubes. It is mostly served chilled as a beverage or sometimes with a meal.

Ginger mint lemonade is a non-alcoholic summer drink that is frequently prepared in the subcontinents of South Asia. The name itself reveals the recipe. Lemonade is basically a lemon-flavoured sweetened drink. In short, ginger and mint lemonade is a sweet drink with the flavours of mint, ginger and lemon.

Summer means scorching sun, heat, dehydration, and water loss due to sweating and thirst. All these things absorb our energy and leave us lethargic, especially after coming from outside during these days. Nothing can be better and healthier than a chilled glass of lemon and mint drink to quench our thirst and instantly regain our lost energy. A glass of vitamin C-rich drink with cooling agents and mint herb can be considered as one of the best ways to cool off after fighting with the sun.

The difficulty level of preparing ginger mint lemonade is low. All the elements required to prepare this summer drink are easily available in any grocery or supermarket. The best part of the recipe is that you can prepare the ginger and mint lemonade concentrate in large quantities and store it for a week.

  • The addition of ice cubes makes the drink more chilled and soothing.
  • If you have sweet tooth, then increase the amount of sugar.
  • If you prefer a tangy taste, then either increase the amount of lime juice or reduce the amount of sugar.

Lime is the preferred citrus for this drink recipe, but lemon also works fine. If you don’t have lime, then you can use lemon.


How to store ginger mint lemonade?

After preparing the lemonade syrup, you can store it in a bottle in the refrigerator for 7 days. Just pour some cold water and mix it before serving.


Can I freeze ginger mint lemonade?

I have never tried to freeze it, but it can be done. You can pour the mint lemonade into the icing tray and freeze them. Then transfer the ice cubes into a zip-lock bag. Just pour the cubes into the glasses and add a little water. Allow them to melt before serving.


How to make Ginger Mint Lemonade?

To prepare ginger mint lemonade, first, pluck a few mint leaves from the stem and wash them thoroughly. Then peel the ginger and grate them.

Now take a pan and add sugar, water, mint leaves, and grated ginger one by one to it. Turn on the flame and allow the mixture to boil. Then turn the flame to low and simmer the mixture for 20 minutes. Turn off the flame and put the pan down. Then strain the mixture nicely in a large mixing bowl or pitcher and allow the content to cool down completely.

Note: At this stage, you can store the concentrated ginger and mint lemonade syrup in the refrigerator for a week for later use. Transfer the syrup to a glass bottle and close the lid before refrigerating. Just take out the concentrated syrup from the refrigerator and then pour 2 tablespoons of it into the glass. Then add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and fill the glass with cold water to enjoy the drink.

Then add chilled water, and lemon juice into the mixing bowl or pitcher and stir it gently. Add some lemon slices and ice cubes for some extra flavour to make the drink chill.

Ingredients:

1 cup = 250 ml


For the syrup
  • ½ cup tightly packed Mint leaves
  • 1 inch Ginger, grated
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water

Other ingredients
  • 3 cups cold Water
  • ⅓ cup Lemon juice
  • 5-6 Lemon slices
  • 10-12 Ice cubes



Instructions:
