Hello friends, today I have come up with a widely popular breakfast recipe Vegetable Masala Oats. In this recipe, Oats is cooked with Onions, Carrots, Bell Peppers, Tomatoes and spices. It is a super easy and quick recipe and gets prepared within half an hour.
Oats is known for its incredible health benefits. Vegetable Masala Oats is a very healthy and delicious option for breakfast/snacks. It has the goodness of vegetables like Carrots, Bell Peppers, and Tomatoes. It tastes equally yummy and takes less effort to prepare like Instant Noodles. But it is thousand times better and healthier than any Instant Noodles.
In this recipe, I have fried the Onions first. Then I have added rest of the vegetables one by one at a time. For flavouring, I have used Cilantros with Cumin powder, Coriander powder and smoked Paprika powder.
I don’t prefer much spices in Oats because it kills the actual taste and flavour of Oats. In this preparation, I have avoided Ginger-Garlic and green Chillies to make the dish light and less spicy.
I had this dish for the first time when I was pregnant. Doctor advised me to have healthy food with plenty of water. One day, as I was craving for Instant Noodles and my Mom prepared this dish for me. I loved the preparation so much that it has taken place in our regular breakfast menu. You must try it once to believe me.
Oats is one of the most versatile grains and you can prepare both sweet and savoury dishes with this. You can also use Oats to bake Cookies, Cakes etc. Oats is widely popular for the preparation of Porridge. It has mushy texture and get cooked very quickly.
Regular consumption of Oats can control our many diseases including heart problems. It will surely be a healthy addition to your regular diet.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Oats
- 1 large Onion, thin sliced
- 1 Carrot, thin sliced
- 1 Tomato, deseeded and small diced
- 1 small Bell Pepper, small diced
- 2-3 tablespoons Cilantros, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon Cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon Coriander powder
- ¼ teaspoon Smoked Paprika powder
- ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- 3 cups of water
Instructions:
- Add oil into a pan.
- Once the Oil is hot, add Onions and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add Carrots and cook it for 3-4 minutes in medium flame.
- Add Bell Peppers and cook it for another minute.
- Add Tomatoes and cook it in medium low flame.
- Cover the pan and cook it until the vegetables become soft.
- Add Salt into the pan and mix it well.
- Cook it for another minute.
- Add Cumin powder, Coriander powder, smoked Paprika powder and give a nice mix.
- Add the Oats into the pan and mix it with spices.
- Add Water and cook it in high flame until the water starts boiling.
- Add Cilantros and mix it nicely.
- Cook it in low flame until the Oats are done.
- At the end sprinkle some Garam Masala powder and mix it thoroughly.
Serving Instruction
Transfer the Vegetable Masala Oats into a serving plate. Garnish it with a Cilantro leaf. Serve hot or warm and enjoy your tasty and healthy breakfast.
