Hello friends, today I have dedicated my recipes to all my Egg-lover friends. Chilli Egg with Gravy is a spicy curry where boiled Egg nuggets are cooked in Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes and soya sauce. It is a very popular Indo-Chinese dish in India. It can be prepared dry as a starter and with gravy for main course. Both the preparations taste different but are equally delicious.
To prepare Chilli Egg with Gravy, you need very common and easily available ingredients. It is a very easy and simple recipe. It is a very quick recipe and can get prepared within half an hour. It can be a great option for any party or family get together.
In this recipe, I have used all-purpose Flour to prepare the batter. Few people also use Corn Flour or Arrow-root to prepare the batter as well. You can use any of these according to your preference. I have added ground Black Pepper, smoked Paprika, Soya sauce, Salt and Garlic powder in the batter. If you don’t have garlic powder, you can also use garlic paste in this case.
Chilli Egg with Gravy goes amazing with any kind (Vegetables, Chicken, mixed etc.) of Hakka Noodles or Fried rice. In fact, in India many people like to have this preparation with Rotis and Parathas too. Dry Chilli Egg is a super tasty appetizer and you won’t need anything else with it.

In this preparation first, I have hard boiled the Eggs and peeled off the skin. I have then cut the Eggs into four pieces each and dipped into the batter. After this, I have deep fried the Egg pieces until golden brown. I have used smoked red Paprika powder instead of Chilli powder. It enhances the flavour of the dish. In this curry preparation, I have added fresh Cilantros at the end. It goes well with the dish.
First time I had this dish was in one of my colleague’s anniversary party. As I am an Egg lover, so I loved the preparation. When I prepared this dish in my kitchen, my family loved the preparation. Now Chilli Egg with Gravy has become one of our regular side dishes for dinner.
I have used Soya sauce and Tomato ketchup, but have skipped Chilli sauce. I always prefer less chilli hot taste and so I have added only two green Chillies. If you prefer more spicy preparation, then you can add Chilli sauce according to your desire taste. To thicken the gravy, I have mixed Corn flour in small amount of water separately and added to the gravy.
