Chilli Broccoli with Gravy is my own variation of chilli recipes which are widely popular across India. In this preparation, Broccoli floret nuggets are cooked with Onions, Garlic, Bell Peppers and Tomatoes in sauces. It basically originated from Indo-Chinese cuisine. It is a super easy and simple recipe which can be cooked with very limited ingredients.
I am a Broccoli lover and always keep on experimenting new dishes with this healthy green vegetable. Chilli Broccoli with Gravy is one of them. This dish goes amazing with veg fried rice and veg Hakka noodles. In fact, it could be a great companion with some Indian breads like Parathas, Naan and Rotis.

How to cook Chilli Broccoli with Gravy
In this recipe, I have used all-purpose flour to prepare the batter. Few people use corn flour or Arrow-root to prepare the batter as well. You can use any one of these according to your own preference. I have used Garlic powder in the batter. If you don’t have it, no need to worry. You can use garlic paste instead of garlic powder. To prepare this batter, you can use Eggs too. But I haven’t used it in this case. I have dedicated this dish to my Pure Veg friends and have hence stuck to prepare a pure Veg Indo-Chinese dish.
As I prefer less Chilli-Hot preparations, so, I have not used green Chillies in this preparation. I have only used red Chilli powder, Chilli sauce and black Pepper powder in this dish. But if you like, you can add green Chillies according to your preferable taste. I have also used Sugar in this preparation, which is optional too. According to me, it enhances the taste of the dish. If you are working hard to avoid Sugar from your diet, no worries. You can skip it.
Normally, in chilli preparations, very few ground spices get used. So, I have only used ground Black Pepper in this dish. I have used chopped Cilantros for flavouring. Normally, in Chinese preparation cilantros are not used. But, in Indo-Chinese cuisine, Cilantros are one of the most used ingredients.
I have already shared many other recipes with Broccolis. You can check few of them like
