Halloween means costumes, make-up, trick or treating, jack-o-lanterns, playing pranks and many more exciting activities including halloween treats recipes. A perfect festival for kids to enjoy utterly and get out of their fear. In short, time is less and preparation is huge. So, I always prefer to prepare quick and easy Halloween treats.

Making halloween treats recipes at home is always fun. Your kitchen counter will be full of food colours, sparkles, candy eyes and much more stuff which you purchase only for Halloween. Kids get super excited and do every possible action to be a part of preparing the Halloween treats.

In our family, we all got a sweet tooth. I and my daughter are crazy for chocolate, whether it’s dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate, does not matter. The only thing which matters is ‘Chocolate’😊. So, you can imagine how quickly these halloween recipes with banana can disappear from our house.

These Halloween chocolate banana pops get prepared within 10 minutes of the activity. The only time you need is to freeze the banana and to set the chocolate in the refrigerator after dipping frozen bananas in chocolate which is even less than an hour. No need to spend time baking for longer to prepare Halloween treats. I personally always prefer to spend minimal time in the kitchen during any festive day to be part of the crowd and get engaged in most of the conversation and enjoyment. So, this Halloween banana popsicle is always one of my favourites for Halloween.

This incredible Halloween banana popsicle is a 3-simple-ingredients recipe and it gets prepared without using any fancy equipment. Isn’t it awesome? The best part of the recipe is that you can double or triple the proportion for large batches which makes it a perfect sweet bite for the Halloween party.

Halloween banana popsicles with step-by-step photos and instructions have been provided in the ‘Instructions’ section of the recipe. If you follow the steps precisely then you will get your desired spooky Halloween popsicles.

Ingredients of Halloween banana popsicles

Banana: One of the primary ingredients for the recipe. It provides body to the pops.

Chocolate: It is used in two different ways for the recipe. First to coat the cookies evenly and secondly to help them get the mummy look.

Sparkles: It is used to decorate the popsicles.

Candy eyes: The most important and effective ingredient to give a spooky look to the cookies.

Equipment to prepare Halloween banana popsicles
  • 1 tall glass or cup
  • Tray or flat plate
  • Wax paper
  • 1 icing bag

Variation in Halloween banana popsicles

The best part of Halloween treats for kids is that it does not need to be perfect. In fact, imperfection works better on halloween treats ideas. I know it’s strange but is true. There is no hard and fast rule to preparing these Halloween banana popsicles. You can use your available ingredients and your own creativity to prepare it.

  • You can use a choice of your chocolate, like dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate for the recipe.
  • If you are using white chocolate, then you can add different vibrant colours too into it for variation.
  • Even you can use alternate-coloured Choco chips or candies instead of candy eyes.

How to make Halloween banana popsicles

To prepare these Halloween banana popsicles, first, peel the bananas and cut them into half pieces. Insert Popsicle sticks in each banana piece. Take a tray and line it with wax paper. Place the bananas on the wax paper-lined tray and freeze them for an hour.

Now it’s time to melt some chocolate chips. Melt it either in a microwave or on a double boiler on the hob. By using a microwave, the process becomes quicker and easier. So, I have used a microwave for this task.

Take a microwavable coffee cup and add chocolate chips to it. Microwave it on half power for 20 seconds increments. Take the cup out and stir it nicely in each interval. Repeat the process until the chocolate melts completely without any lumps.

Keep the sparkles and candy eyes handy so that you can easily assemble them. Now it’s the most interesting part of the recipe.

Then take one frozen banana stick at a time and dip it into the melted chocolate and coat it evenly. Now, dip the top of the chocolate-coated popsicles in sparkles. After this, place the banana Popsicle on a parchment paper-lined plate or tray. Place the 2 candy eyes very carefully on the popsicles. Repeat the same process with the rest of the frozen banana pieces.

At this stage, you can stop decorating. But for some extra decoration Place an icing bag in a glass. Then transfer 2 tablespoons of warm melted white chocolate into the icing bag and cut the tip with a scissor. If the chocolate gets hard, heat it once more on half power for 10 seconds.

Drizzle chocolate over each banana popsicle, avoiding the eyes, to give it a look like the bandage of the mummies. Then allow the cookies to get set. Refrigerate it until the chocolate coating gets hard.
